James Martin Kelly
James
was born James Martin Kelly in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up
with two
brothers and one sister in Valley Stream, Long Island. There,
Jim developed his talent and
love for music. By his twenties, he was a published songwriter
performing as a singer/guitarist
in and around New York City. In the mid Eighties, James could
be seen and heard as a guitarist/singer with groups like The
Roosters, Freddy Frogs, No Frills Band, and others.
Leaving
New York, Jim and his wife, Mary-Ellen, moved to Florida for
a change in
lifestyle, and to raise their four children. While in Florida,
aside from working as a letter carrier
and musician, Jim discovered acting. Beginning with Community
theatre and ending with
a move to Los Angeles, Jim's stay in Florida was ambitious as
well as prolific. Auditioning,
hosting and co/producing a cable show, "Kelly's Cellar", with
his wife Mary-Ellen, Jim
had begun working in Commercials, TV, and writing for the stage.
Also among his Florida
credits are professional Theatre, as well as Musical Directing
and Film soundtrack
Writer/Recording Artist. Jim studied Eric Morris under Kathy
Laughlin at the Performer's
Studio in Tampa, where Jim says Kathy "turned the light on"
for him.
In
2002, James moved to Los Angeles with his wife, Mary-Ellen,
and children Vanessa,
James, and Colin. His fourth child, Amanda, has since joined
them and lives nearby. Jim has
become a familiar face on Television Primetime Dramas playing
powerful characters......good
and bad...... from God to murderers ......and living a dream.
